About Us

James and Kathleen Hynes founded HETSCO in 1982 as a specialty welding repair service company to fill the void left by a major aluminum plate-fin heat exchanger manufacturer who exited the exchanger repair market. Alra Sullivan joined the company a year later. To satisfy the need of its customers, HETSCO then ventured into pressure vessel fabrications through use of its 12,000 ft2 shop after receiving its ASME "R" and "U" in compliance with the NBIC.

Starting from just a few employees twenty-five years ago, HETSCO can supply over 30 employees during peak repair/construction periods.  The company's annual sales volume has grown from $4 million just a few years ago to over $14 million during 2006.  HETSCO's  philosophy of 24-hour emergency repairs and "whatever it takes" mode of operation still rings true today, whether getting a customer back into service, fabricating tanks and pressure vessels, or constructing and managing a large construction project.
